A free Chrome and Edge extension that gives you the Amazon experience you actually want.
Currently in alpha testing.
What it does
Sort by real price-per-unit across all results, not just total price. Stop doing the math yourself.
Filter results to exactly the product you asked for. No more irrelevant listings burying what you actually want.
Hide sellers you don't want, sort by delivery date, and build a shortlist as you browse. Shop on your terms, not Amazon's.
Everything in one clean panel, organised the way you actually think. Less clutter, less scrolling, less second-guessing.
Why it exists
I built Actually Useful because I was fed up. I usually know exactly what I want — but Amazon's search assumptions, sponsored listings, and missing filters kept getting in the way.
Actually Useful works alongside Amazon, not instead of it. It sorts and filters what's already on the page, loads more results when you want them, and puts the controls where they should have been all along.
It's free. It always will be. There are no paid features, no ads, no data sold. Just a tool that works the way you expect.
Features
Price per unit
Sorts all results by real unit price — ounces, fluid ounces, count, or whatever the category calls for. The best value item gets a star.
Keyword filter
Include terms, exclude terms, use OR logic. Mismatches dim to the bottom rather than disappear — you stay in control.
Sponsored control
Move ads to the end of results, or hide them entirely. Three states — your choice every time.
Delivery sorting
Sort by soonest delivery or soonest free delivery. Actually Useful reads the dates on each listing, not just the badge.
Shortlist
Check items as you browse, then open them all side by side in the Actually Useful comparison table — sortable, filterable, and shareable. Add notes, send the link, and the other person can filter and add their own notes and share again. Nobody else has this.
Multi-page loading
Load up to 10 pages of results and sort across all of them at once. Amazon's sort only works on one page at a time.
Source filtering
Toggle Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods, Amazon Pharmacy, and third-party retailers on or off independently.
Coupons & Subscribe and Save
Clips and Subscribe & Save discounts are surfaced and factored into sorting — not hidden until checkout.
Telemetry you control
Anonymous usage data helps fix bugs. It's on by default and off with one click in the extension popup. Nothing personal is ever sent.
Support the project
If it saves you money or time, a coffee keeps it going. No subscription, no pressure — just a tip jar for a tool that works.
